Backing coating machines are complete sets of equipment that evenly apply molten plastic or hot-melt adhesive to the backside of substrates such as carpets, mats, paper, and films, imparting anti-slip, waterproofing, enhanced dimensional stability, or aesthetics. Depending on the coating material and the end product, mainstream models on the market can be categorized into three main types: PE/TPE/EVA car mat backing coating machines, PVC backing coating machines, and TPR/TPE carpet backing coating machines.



1. PE/TPE/EVA Car Mat Coating Machine

Applicable Materials: LDPE, EVA, TPE, or their foam blends

Product Specifications: Weight 300–1200 g/m², Web Width 1.5–2.6 m, Single- or Double-Sided Anti-Slip Texture Available

Core Configuration:

High-efficiency single-screw extruder (L/D 32–36) with melt pump and hydraulic screen changer, output 200–350 kg/h

Coat-hanger-style wide-width die head with built-in throttle bar, enabling online coating thickness adjustment from 0–5 mm

Three-roller embossing/cooling unit with interchangeable anti-slip textures (diamond, dot, fine straight)

Dual-station friction winding + automatic edge trimming for non-stop roll changes

Technical Highlights: Low-temperature plasticization maintains EVA expansion ratio; servo tension control prevents substrate deformation

Main Applications: Car driver's and passenger's floor mats, trunk mats, high-speed rail/yacht anti-slip mats


2. PVC Back Coating Machine

Applicable Materials: Soft PVC granules (containing plasticizer and CaCO₃), PVC paste resin, or hot melt adhesive

Product Specifications: Coating thickness 0.4–2.0 mm, web width 1.6–4.2 m, can be covered with mesh or foam

Core Configuration:

Large aspect ratio exhaust screw (L/D 34) with ceramic heating ring for uniform melt temperature, output 400–600 kg/h

Dual unwinding station with EPC automatic web correction; cloth storage rack ensures non-stop roll changes

Comma blade/roller coating lamination head with optional reverse roll or slot extrusion mode, surface flatness ±0.02 mm

Multi-stage hot air circulation oven (length 18–30 m), adjustable temperature 80–180°C, solvent residue ≤ 5 ppm

Cooling tunnel + embossing/printing unit + dual-station center rewind

Technical Highlights: Online thickness measurement and closed-loop control; optional UV curing or infrared preheating for increased productivity 20%

Main applications: Carpet tiles, commercial flooring, PVC wall coverings, brochure covers, and waterproof tarpaulins


3. TPR/TPE Carpet Back Coating Machine

Applicable Materials: TPR, TPE, TPV, or their foam pellets; 10–30% recycled rubber powder can be added.

Product Specifications: Backing weight 400–1000 g/m², width 2–5 m. Anti-slip textures, logos, or drainage grooves can be formed in one step.

Core Configuration:

Low-temperature, high-efficiency single-screw extruder (L/D 30–33) with melt pump and 2-zone die temperature control, output 300–600 kg/h.

Specialized "extrusion + embossing" integrated die head allows for micro-melt bonding of TPR and carpet pile at 200°C, with a peel strength of ≥30 N.

Three-roller cooling and shaping system; spiral flow channels within the rollers maintain a constant temperature of ±1°C. In-line non-woven or mesh fabric coating is possible.

Vertical and horizontal trimming + Fixed-length flying saws allow for direct palletizing or coiling of finished products.

Technical Highlights: No primer required, achieving anti-slip, waterproof, and soundproofing in one step; Line speeds of 5–15 m/min, 15% lower energy consumption.

Main Applications: Doormats, corridor rugs, artificial turf with adhesive backing, exhibition rugs, and anti-slip bathroom rugs.
